Films of the DStv Film Talent Celebration Competition now available to view on DStv channel 199
In October 2011, DStv initiated a nationwide search for the best short film makers in the country. The competition received over 300 entries, with 5 films awarded top honours after a rigorous selection process by an independent judging panel. The winners were announced at the DStv Film Celebration Event held in Johannesburg in March 2012.
The winning short films are between three and ten minutes in length. The top 5 short films which will be screened on channel 199 are: Ibhayibhile – The Bible, for best production and best director; Thandeka Faku, best editor; Astray, best sound; Fortabt – Loss of Love, best cinematography and A procura de Pancho - Looking for Pancho, best newcomer.
Subscribers will also be given the opportunity to view the films developed by participants of the annual DStv Film Skills Development Programme, which is a transformation initiative to develop and train filmmakers from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
Tune in to DStv Channel 199 from Monday, 23 April 2012 at 18:00 to Sunday, 13 May 2012 at 14:00.
