Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment
The Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act 53 of 2003 was promulgated with a view to addressing historical imbalances through the creation of a balanced scorecard that enables organisations to manage expectations and deliverables in terms of BBBEE. The MultiChoice South Africa Group is committed to the principles of BBBEE and has developed the necessary reporting processes and created the relevant focus and awareness in order to achieve their targets in line with regulatory and shareholder expectations. To this end, on principle MultiChoice prefers not to engage with suppliers who are not B-BBEE compliant.

Supplier Management Program
Vendor Selection
There are two possible mechanisms by which vendors might apply for Preferred Supplier status. At a group level certain commodities are sourced by CommerceZone, the MCSA Group sourcing arm. Should you wish to list your company on the CommerceZone Database for potential future suppliers, call 011 369 7100 or email customersupport@commercezone.co.za and request a “potential supplier form” which should be completed and returned to CommerceZone.
This will place your company on a database, whereby the next time a Tender is issued for your commodity, your company might be considered for inclusion in the process. A standard tender evaluation process and strict criteria need to be adhered to resulting in some suppliers being short-listed depending on the commodity and tender requirements as well as compliance thereto. Please note that it is the potential supplier/bidders responsibility to keep their contact details up to date at all times.
Commodities that are specific to MultiChoice are sourced through an alternative internal process. Suppliers are sourced based on a particular business need and only closed tenders are entered into. Should you wish your company to be considered in future tender processes please complete the Contact us form, and your details will kept on a database for future reference.
All sourced and/or preferred suppliers are required to have valid B-BBEE certificates in place and no further discussion will be entered into where this is not in place.
Vendor Management
All preferred or sourced suppliers are managed using the MultiChoice Contract and Service Management processes. You will be provided with more information regarding this process should your company be selected to provide services and/or products to MultiChoice.
